NEXT STATION

NEXT STATION

A site specific installation centered upon the entrance lobby of the new central bus station in Tel-Aviv. A life size replica of a cannery bird hangs from the ceiling, barely noticeable, perched high above the heads of thousands of passerby’s on their daily routine in and out of the station. This small edifice marks the monumental failure of planning and design embedded into this mammoth sized structure as manifested through its current state of disrepair and unclear future.

The installation consists of a number of corresponding interventions throughout the building, all of which deal with manners of quantifying and measuring the adverse conditions of air pollution and toxicity – the main reasons for which this building has fallen into its current state.
